Clean Energy
Similar to renewable energy, these energy sources are limitless. The clean energy label also implies that while a consumer uses this type of energy they are not causing further polluting the environment in the process. One could argue that out of commission solar panels and wind turbines may eventually pollute the earth but this label refers to whether the use of this energy causes pollution immediately. Coal, fracking for natural gas or both described in a misleading way as being clean. Essentially extracting this energy may be a cleaner process due to improved technology but they both still cause an environmental impact. The phrase alternative energy may be used to describe “clean coal”, natural gas and waste to energy facilities however all of these sources still have a significant impact on the environment.
