Durability
The ultimate test of durability is if the product or technology adheres to whatever brand/label/warranty/promise is communicated in its’ branding. If a product/technology doesn’t say that it can last 5 years, then should we be disappointed if it doesn’t?
If the branding of a product/technology clearly communicates that it is best used in another climate/environment, then our quality expectations should be different when we change that climate/environment (e.g. certain electronics do not function well in a humid environment).
When selecting products for durability for Caribbean use, we should consider the relevance of the branding and validation in Caribbean (climate/social) conditions.
