Made from Renewable Energy
Sun. Wind. Waves. Tides. Ocean Temperature differences (Ocean Thermal Exchange Technology). Kinetic energy – our movement. Biomass. These are all sources of renewable energy which products may identify as their generation source. Most commonly you will see products made from 100% Wind energy or websites hosted by wind energy sources. In the Caribbean Solar is most extensively used, however historically there are some islands such as Barbados which have used wind mills in their agricultural operations. Generation from wind energy is being adopted and projects are developing throughout the region. There are islands such as Aruba which have already made a firm commitment and steps towards having their island powered by 100% renewable energy. However it is still rare to find a manufacturers sighting that their products are made using only renewable energy. Although over time the earth could renew its sources of oil and coal, because of the time span these are not considered renewable.
