We use this to describe a person, food lifestyle choice or product. A vegan label implies that no animal products can be found in the product and that the product was not tested on animals. However, another label (Cruelty-free) assures consumers that products were not tested on animals. Vegan food and products exclude all  animal products and all forms of dairy. Any products or food with honey are not considered vegan. Some people who have chosen a vegan lifestyle have also decided not to wear clothes derived from animals

(leather/fur). A vegan lifestyle is also chosen by people who want to reduce their impact on the earth or reduce their exposure to pollutants which bioaccumulate in animals.

In the Caribbean, restaurants which serve alkaline or live/raw food are typically vegan.
